Acquaint

Acquaint is a community of volunteers from over 35 countries who help bring the world together while strengthening their own intercultural communication skills. They use the Acquaint platform to connect for one-on-one conversations, which are made easier and more fun by a series of virtual icebreakers. By listening and sharing with one another, volunteers work to build peace and global solidarity. We call this “cultural networking” and it has the power to gradually erode barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding that divide humanity.

Acquaint provides a platform that enables people from around the world to grow and learn through human connection. Our community is made up of volunteers who train to be great active listeners and intercultural communicators. Each week, volunteers enter their availability on the Acquaint platform and are paired for one-on-one sessions based on their time. Pairings are random. Volunteers could end up talking to someone right down the street or on the other side of the world. Either way, there is much they can learn from each other.
