Every Room in our building has a bird feed on the window, or hanging outside of it! We would love to have a volunteer come in and maintain the bird feeders for us once a week! We supply the bird feed, and some resident purchase their own. We would love assistance with cleaning and filling them and then replacing the broken ones as the windy weather comes.

Kulshan Carbon Trust (KCT) Board of Directors seeks a Treasurer to help steward the financial health of our growing nonprofit focused on regenerative natural climate solutions. This is a unique opportunity to apply your financial skills to build a more resilient future for NW Washington and to play a significant role in shaping a network of place-based carbon trusts into the burgeoning bioregionalism and regeneration movements. 

We catalyze community-led collaborations that empower land stewards to implement regenerative solutions, such as biochar, to restore ecosystems, drawdown carbon, and build climate resilience across our bioregion. We connect farmers, landowners, researchers, funders, and community members to turn these solutions into on-the-ground impact — and help build a broader movement of place-based carbon conservation trusts. Oversee bookkeeping and cash flow. Lead the annual budget process. Report financials to the Board. Serve as audit and tax compliance liaison. Maintain banking relationships and internal controls. 

Dedicate an average of 5–10 hours per month as part of the KCT team to further our mission and help staff meet grant obligations. Contribute financially to KCT, if you are able, and support the organization through fundraising activities. Participate in five or more bi-monthly board meetings per year and join one or more board committees and/or collaborative workgroups. Whenever possible, attend KCT fundraising events, pint nights, and social gatherings.

Meaningful experience in accounting, financial management, bookkeeping oversight, budgeting, or a related field. Professional credentials are welcome but not required. Familiarity with nonprofit finance & reporting is a plus.

KCT board members serve without compensation, except for administrative support and travel costs related to board duties. Board members serve a three year term and may seek reelection for one additional term. The Board typically meets every two months, with optional social gatherings between meetings. All board meetings offer a hybrid option, allowing remote participation.

We're looking for individuals interested in serving on one of two Board committees:

Fix-it Fairs and Repair Cafés are community gatherings bringing neighbors together to provide free repair services to the public while reducing landfill waste and passing on vital skills. These hands-on events are open to everyone and provide an empowering opportunity for individuals to learn how to repair items – like small appliances and electronics – for themselves and others. The events are held at sites around town, with the goal of making them accessible to more people in more communities.

What gets fixed? The public is invited to bring items in need of repairing or mending that might otherwise be thrown away, such as bikes, jewelry, clothing, small appliances, furniture, toys and electronics. 

What do volunteers do? Volunteers help with a variety of event-prep activities: setting up the space, placing signage, helping guests get their items checked in, getting those items to the appropriate repair station, taking photos of guests with their repaired items and more. 

Please Note: When you sign up for this opportunity, Repair x Reuse WA will reach out to learn more about your skills, interests, and location. We will then put you in touch with one or more of the fixer or repair group organizers who run local events.

Women & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen has an exciting opportunity for teens. Our Teen Leadership Board offers students from local high schools unique ways to gain leadership experience and learn about the importance of philanthropy and volunteerism. The purpose of our Teen Board is to raise awareness about the mission and programs of WCFR and to provide ways to participate in projects that support families in need.

Teen Board membership provides valuable learning experiences. Many of the activities are designed to create a team of individuals working in the best interests of those who are unable to help themselves. Members can earn community service hours for school or service club requirements from a nonprofit organization in supervised settings and activities. Project Description: We will divide into 4 teams to tackle the project areas. 3 teams will work on staining the picnic shelters. There are 2 shelters located at the main parking area and the 3rd shelter is located down the street at the beginner trailhead. The 3 shelters have been prepped and are ready for a fresh coat of stain. We will use brushes and rollers to apply the stain. The fourth team can collect trash along Old Trails Road and prune dead limbs from Ponderosa trees.

The Habitat Store serves our work of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. The Habitat Store is a donation-based home improvement and goods store. One hundred percent of proceeds from donations of new and gently used items help fund our mission. The store depends on enthusiastic volunteers for everything from bringing in donated items to helping us sort donations in our warehouse to arranging merchandise. Whether volunteers prefer interacting with the public or working behind the scenes, we have a space for everyone!

As a volunteer, you and others will spend the day using sustainable and responsible practices to build homes that last. The home building process can include framing, drywall, insulation, siding, floor installation, painting, and more. No prior experience is necessary, and people of all abilities are encouraged to participate. All volunteers work under the instruction of the Habitat site construction supervisor. This is a construction project building incredibly energy-efficient homes for families in need of a safe and affordable place to call home. Volunteer for Taste of Ferndale 2026! The Taste of Ferndale walking tour is hosted by the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and will take place on Friday, Sept 18th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Are you a native or near-native level Spanish speaker? We are looking for one or two people to transcribe KMRE Daily News stories into a once-weekly Spanish language program. The Producer/Reader will select from existing stories, translate them to Spanish, and then read the stories for air once a week.

KMRE is a non-commercial, community operated radio station. The station's programming features local news in addition to roots music, conversational and educational programs, and arts & culture.
Our local news is "by our community, for our community". Local people gather, write, and announce the news. There are opportunities for news writers, field reporters, and announcers.
Experience with print or broadcast journalism is helpful, but not required. Other station volunteers can provide training. If you have the desire to help shine a light on local news and create a more informed community, come join us.

Volunteer graphic designer will help the station by designing digital and print assets to promote KMRE, encourage listenership, and increase underwriting. Materials may include individual posters, postcards for shows, web graphics, an annual report with a dashboard, custom icons and a limited edition t-shirt graphics for the benefit of the station. Works directly with the General Manager and the Program Director. Hours are flexible, and work is remote. 

KMRE is expanding our signal and we're seeking a professional, experienced Grant Writer, who is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations and will persuasively communicate our mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Writer researches, writes, and prepares government, foundation, and corporate grant proposals and reports that align with KMRE's mission.

Research, write, and submit compelling and timely letters of inquiry and grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.

Kulshan Community Media (KMRE 88.3 FM) is seeking a volunteer Treasurer/Accountant to potentially join our Board of Directors and help ensure the financial health of our nonprofit community radio station.

KMRE is an all-volunteer, nonprofit community radio station serving Whatcom County. We provide local news, public affairs, music, and programming that amplifies voices and stories from across our community. We're looking for someone who believes in the value of independent local media and enjoys helping mission-driven organizations succeed.

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build organizational capacity by strengthening DVSAS’s volunteer, outreach, and fundraising systems. The member will support the development of outreach plans, identify community engagement opportunities, and improve volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training processes. They will assist with improving donor and auction data systems, developing fundraising communications, and supporting events that generate resources for survivor services. The member will create and refine tools, processes, and documentation that allow DVSAS staff and volunteers to sustain these efforts long-term. Through this work, the member will help expand community partnerships, increase organizational efficiency, and strengthen DVSAS’s ability to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and exploitation.

Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

A volunteer is needed to deliver meals in Renton on Wednesday mornings, as needed.  Volunteers start at 10 am and are typically done with their route in 1 to 2 hours. Training is provided, and mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries.

Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, reliable, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment.

Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs and navigate stairs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver’s license and auto insurance.

Wednesday afternoons from 12:00 to 3:00 or 3:00 to 6:00pm and Thursday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30 pm involve distribution and working with the public.

Clothes For Kids provides free school wardrobes to Snohomish County kids in need. Every used item that we collect is laundered prior to being put on our shop floor. We are in need of additional laundry support!

Details: Pick up bags of laundry from Clothes For Kids in Lynnwood. Take the clothes home, wash them, and bring them back to our shop when you're done.

Volunteer at the second annual Pour in the Park at Lakewold Gardens! 

Pour in the Park is a wine festival where guests can sample 20+ local wineries, breweries, ciders, and seltzers with friends, visit food trucks, and listen to a live DJ, all in our beautiful garden setting. This is Lakewold’s second biggest fundraiser, raising $6,000 last year to support garden preservation, educational programs, and community access. 

 We are looking to increase attendance from 500 to 1,000 people this year, which means we need a lot of volunteers! All volunteers will receive a free ticket for a friend, a complimentary meal, and complimentary tasting tickets for exploring the event.

The Homeownership Education & Stewardship AmeriCorps VISTA will build Kulshan Community Land Trust's organizational capacity by developing sustainable education, outreach, and data management systems. The VISTA will create and improve online educational resources, develop outreach materials, communication templates, and partnership tools, and design impact metrics, Salesforce dashboards, survey tools, and reporting processes for staff use. The member will document systems and procedures that strengthen fundraising, strategic planning, and homeownership education, enabling staff to more effectively support first-time homebuyers and homeowners long after the VISTA service year has ended.

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will strengthen Readiness to Learn's organizational capacity by developing sustainable technology management systems, documentation, and standardized processes. The member will assess current technology and information management practices, consult with staff to identify organizational needs, and create tools such as technology inventories, filing frameworks, troubleshooting guides, training resources, and implementation documentation. The VISTA will pilot these resources with staff, collect feedback, and refine materials to support long-term adoption. By developing sustainable systems and documentation, the member will improve organizational efficiency, strengthen volunteer-supported technology coordination, and ensure staff have the resources needed to maintain technology infrastructure beyond the VISTA term.

Partners INW serves approximately 300 households each day through our Food Bank, providing food assistance to individuals, families, seniors, and children throughout our community. A significant portion of the food we distribute comes from local grocery store partners who generously donate food that would otherwise go to waste.

We are currently seeking dependable Volunteer Grocery Rescue Drivers to help transport these donations from local grocery stores to our Food Bank.

What You'll Do:

• Pick up donated food from local grocery stores

• Deliver donations to Partners INW

• Help ensure quality food reaches families in need

• Play a direct role in reducing food waste and fighting hunger in our community

Availability Needed:

Routes are available Monday through Saturday. The time commitment is approximately 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, though pickup times may vary slightly depending on the route.

The Sexual Assault and Family Trauma Center, a program of Lutheran Community Services Northwest, hosts Spokane's only Certified and Accredited Community Sexual Assault Program (CSAP). Our program provides the following services confidentially and free of charge:

Our volunteer advocates assist survivors via a 24-hour support line that can be directed to volunteers at home (no need to sit in a call center) and medical advocacy, which is provided to victims in person at area hospitals when requested.

As a non-profit, we rely on our volunteers to provide services to survivors outside of business hours. We provide a comprehensive 40-hour training and certification free of charge, as well as ongoing supervision and 24-hour support for all our volunteers. We invest in our volunteer staff and in turn, we ask for a one-year commitment of service and four evening or weekend shifts per month. Applicants are thoroughly screened and vetted for service.

Core training is a 40-hour total class teaching a foundational understanding of sexual violence and basic skills for new sexual assault service providers. Core training is a certification that is required by the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy to work as a victims' advocate in Washington state. Our next training will be held in October 2026. The Walla Walla Memory Cafe currently need a social engagement leader. We are looking for a new space to hold the cafe and open to your schedule. They typically meet for 1-1.5 hrs a month. 

Early Stage Social Engagement Leaders plan, implement and assure positive experience during social engagement events/activities for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Early Stage Social Engagement Leaders:

Join us once a week on Thursdays in our garden to support the efforts of the youth we work with! We usually work on weeding, watering and many other tasks that come along with running a large garden. We use this garden in our youth agriculture internship and try to make sure it is always a safe environment for youth to learn and grow in. Currently, 0ur garden needs a little extra TLC.  We have a massive invasion of bindweed, which is creating a hard time for our crops!

We hope you can join the fun! Snacks, water, tools and sunscreen are made available. We ask volunteers bring tools is they have ones they like to use, a hat, a water bottle and clothes that are conducive to warm weather and can get dirty.

Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers.

Support to the DAT response, shelter operations, emergency aid stations, outreach activities, and casework and recovery planning during a disaster relief operation .

Time Commitment:

Minimum 8-hours per month

Requirements:

This virtual role provides follow-up and recovery planning services for individuals and households following home fires or disasters, including referrals. Caseworkers make initial contact with the client within 48 hours of the disaster. Work with clients to get connected with resources. All training is provided.

Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.

Our DAT team is responsible for:

Providing timely in-person response to disasters and assisting those affected. Responding to disaster scenes as assigned by Team Leader within two hours. Meet the needs of those affected by disasters such as the need for shelter and food by providing Red Cross Services.

Complete forms related to services provided.

Provide referrals to other agencies.

Communicate to Team Leader about availability and readiness on a regular basis.

* Ability to be consistently respond immediately to notification calls and dispatch DAT when on call

When a large-scale disaster impacts a community, multiple agencies and resources are needed to walk alongside them to provide response and recovery support. As a Community Engagement & Partnerships (CEP) Service Associate you’ll connect with local partners to build capacity, coordinate activities, integrate expertise, and ensure that all disaster-affected communities, including traditionally underserved populations, have access to Red Cross services.

Your volunteer role involves implementing the CEP plan, engaging with organizations, and supporting multi-agency collaborative efforts to promote regional engagement and inclusive partnerships.

When housing is disrupted in communities due to a large disaster it can be tough for many individuals to secure new long term consistent/reliable housing. The Shelter Resident Transition Service Associate assists shelter residents and disaster victims create long term personal plans to overcome obstacles and transition into a stable housing solution. They play an important role in minimizing disaster caused displacement and aid in long term recovery.

Welcome and greet blood donors during a Red Cross Blood drive by providing exceptional customer services and ensuring a rewarding/positive  experience, so donors return next time. 

Enhance your customer service skills and gain experience working directly in healthcare setting. Staff reception area, support donor check-in process with their appointment time, ask donors to read required medical material, and make telephone calls for reminders and additional follow up. 

Support hospitality experience by offering refreshments and giving immediate attention to anyone feeling unwell. Invite donors to to return by providing educational information about the positive impact and lifesaving service of blood donations.

                    American Red Cross Blood Transportation Specialist 

Do you enjoy driving? American Red Cross is looking for volunteer drivers. Transportation specialists will retrieve a Red Cross vehicle and leave the Red Cross in Seattle and pick up blood in the afternoon in Thurston/Kitsap/Grays Harbor Counties.  Bringing it back to the Seattle Red Cross in a safe and timely manner. We also need drivers to leave the Seattle Red Cross at 9am to pick up blood from a variety of blood drives and courier it back to the Red Cross.  You will drive a Red Cross vehicle and we will pay for the gas. 

Drivers play a vital part in helping carry out the Red Cross mission, as each delivery could mean saving a life. The Red Cross supplies 40% of the nation's blood supply, and without drivers, safe blood products would not reach their destination.

Ensure military families' needs are met when faced with an emergency

Support the Red Cross mission

* Maintain strict confidentiality of any case notes, names and other personal information in accordance with Red Cross policies

* Understand and apply Service to Armed Forces (SAF) policies, procedures and protocols related to Red Cross client services consistently and correctly
