Volunteer at the Marcus Trufant Believe in Me Charity Golf Tournament on July 27, 2026, at Canterwood Golf & Country Club in Gig Harbor. Morning, daytime, and event-wrap-up shifts will be available, with opportunities to assist with setup, registration, golfer hospitality, contests, course activities, and cleanup. Volunteers will help create a welcoming experience while raising funds for scholarships for underserved students.

Corral Buddies are the warm, welcoming presence that makes our shelter feel like a safe haven — for the animals and for our community. As a Corral Buddy, you'll provide comfort, enrichment, and calm companionship to animals in our care, helping them feel less stressed and more ready for their next homes. What You'll Do

•       Sit near corral or in corral and offer a calm, reassuring presence to animals while our staff is at lunch to provide dogs extra opportunities for out-of-kennel time

•       Talk softly, read aloud, or simply keep animals’ company to reduce stress and anxiety

•       Engage animals through the kennel with approved enrichment items (toys, treats) as directed by staff

•       Observe animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to shelter staff

•       Help create a soothing, positive environment in the shelter

•       Assist with light tasks such as preparing enrichment, restocking supplies, or updating animal activity logs

•       Welcome and assist visiting adopters in a supportive, informative way

We need your help! The 33rd Annual NUBIAN JAM Community Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at Forest Park, 802 Mukilteo Blvd. Everett, WA. Sponsored by the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee, the NUBIAN JAM will celebrate the richness and beauty of the African American heritage and culture. The event is free and is supported by several community sponsors.

Join us in making the Mercer Island Farmers Market a success! We rely on amazing volunteers like you to keep things running smoothly. Choose from three shifts per market day and help support our local vendors and community.

Available tasks vary, and could include: pop up tent set up/tear down, table/chairs set up/take down, helping shoppers at the Info Booth, refilling the water station, picking up trash, sweeping, taking photos, setting up banners, putting out A-frame signs, helping at the children's booth, etc.

Mentors help recently arrived refugees become acquainted with the surrounding community and face the challenges of resettling in a new country. This is a critical period when refugees need assistance learning the basics of life in a new place, including things like public transportation, the banking system, public schools, managing personal healthcare, conversational English and getting involved in their community. Mentors meet with an individual or a family for two hours per week during their first three months in the U.S.

Volunteer for the Whatcom County Farm Tour! 

Sustainable Connections is looking for volunteers to help make the 2026 Whatcom County Farm Tour a success on Saturday, September 12. 

The Farm Tour is a free, family-friendly event that connects community members with local farms and the people who grow our food. This year, visitors will have the opportunity to explore 14 farms throughout Whatcom County, and we're seeking volunteers to help welcome guests and keep the event running smoothly. 

Volunteers will staff registration and information booths, greet visitors, provide directions and basic event information, check guests in, and accept donations. 

Shifts available: 

No experience is necessary, and all volunteers will receive training and materials before the event.

It's a fun and rewarding way to support local agriculture, meet new people, and spend a day at one of Whatcom County's beautiful farms.  Interested in volunteering with a friend?

We’re seeking a committed and mission‑driven volunteer to serve as the next President of Washington State NOW. This is a unique volunteer opportunity to guide statewide advocacy for women’s rights and strengthen the NOW organization in Washington.

The WA NOW President leads the organization’s mission, oversees statewide operations, and represents Washington State NOW in advocacy, coalition work, and member engagement. 

The volunteer time commitment for this role varies throughout the year but can be 5 -10 hours per week in the Winter and Spring. This is a remote friendly role and you can mostly work from home. Candidates must be (or be willing to become) a NOW member and must be a Washington Resident.

Hello! The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness is seeking volunteers to sort school supplies, stuff backpacks, help set up and stage operations, and help facilitate backup pickup!

Every year through Project Cool, Coalition members and volunteers make sure that more than 1,800 unhoused students start the school year off right with the supplies they need. This year Project Cool 2026 will serve 1,844 pre-k through 12th grade students in King County schools with backpacks and new school supplies. 

Can Children Volunteer: Some shifts are suitable for all ages sign up (please see via sign up link), while many of the set up and distribution days are not suitable for children under 16-years-old (they must be must be able to lift/carry 15lbs). On backpack stuffing days, children are welcome to attend with 1:1 adult supervision!

Join our team as a Food Bank Floater and play a key role in keeping our food bank running smoothly by stepping in wherever help is needed most. In this flexible volunteer position, you'll work alongside a dedicated team of fellow volunteers and perform a variety of tasks based on the day’s needs, with guidance from our staff. Tasks may include building food carts, stocking shelves, bagging produce and collecting empty carts from the parking lot so they can be rebuilt with food!

Partners INW currently has Friday volunteer shifts open for anyone interested in helping sort clothing donations for our free community clothing bank! This is a hands-on role with plenty to learn, and it’s a great fit for volunteers looking for a consistent, weekly Friday commitment. As a Volunteer Clothing Bank Donation Sorter, you will play a crucial role in helping provide clothing to individuals and families in need. Your responsibilities will include sorting, organizing, and preparing donated clothing for distribution. This position is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work, are detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping others. 

What You’ll Be Doing: Sort donated clothing by type, size, condition, and season to ensure items are appropriate for distribution. Inspect items for cleanliness, quality, and damage; remove unsuitable donations. Fold, hang, or package clothing as necessary to maintain an organized and efficient donation area. Work with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth and timely distribution of items. Provide support for other tasks as needed, such as assisting with inventory or restocking shelves.

What We're Looking For: Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently. A team-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate with other volunteers. Ability to stand, bend, and lift light items for extended periods of time.

Volunteers play an important role in supporting our Shower Program by helping create a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for community members accessing services. Responsibilities include assisting with program setup before shower hours, greeting participants, helping distribute supplies as needed, maintaining a clean and organized space during operations, and supporting staff with general program needs. After services conclude, volunteers assist with cleanup, sanitizing areas, restocking supplies, and preparing the space for future use. Volunteers should be dependable, compassionate, and committed to treating all participants with dignity and respect.  

Wild Whatcom’s Board of Directors is vital to the current and ongoing success of the organization. Our Board provides strategic direction and accountability, helps develop goals, works to increase financial capacity, conducts public relations, and generally works for the well being of the organization. We also believe that serving on the Board should be fun, educational, and rewarding!

We are currently seeking board directors for our 2026-27 year. If you have a passion for equitable access to nature, the health benefits of regular time spent outdoors, and inspiring people of all ages to be active stewards of local nature spaces, this is a perfect opportunity to provide community voice to our work.

Commitment: Five meetings a year (quarterly, plus an annual retreat).

Do you like capturing outdoor joy in photos and/or video? Is creating slideshows or digital scrapbooks your thing? How about amplifying nature programs and FUNdraisers on social media?

We need volunteers to help us document and promote our outings and events in digital formats to share with participants and the public. We aren’t looking for perfection, just enthusiasm! Lots of flexibility based on your availability and interests. We have programs seven days a week throughout the year, including some evenings; fundraising events include one big event at the end of May, and several smaller events like nature trivia throughout the year.

Commitment varies based on your schedule, with a suggested one-year term. In most cases, expect 1-2 hours per month.

Help us plan and host our spring fundraising event! This is a shorter term commitment that is flexible based on how you want to participate. Whether you prefer planning details behind the scenes, visiting businesses for donations or welcoming guests on event day, we have lots of ways for you to use your gifts and interests to help us raise funds - and have fun doing it!

Commitment: Event Team is active January - May, with virtual and in-person activities. Team check-ins will help volunteers stay connected and updated throughout planning. Expect a monthly meeting (1-1.5 hours each), and additional activities to work on independently each month (1-6 hours per month, depending on your chosen activities)

Follow the road to its end and park. We will meet in the parking area and then head to the Arena (1 minute walk from trailhead).

Project Description: We will continue prepping and staining the Equestrian Arena fence. We will utilize paint brushes for the corners, and rollers for the rails. This is a large fence and there is plenty of room for each of us to paint our own panel. There may be some sections that could use some more prep work so we can continue scraping and cleaning the fence as needed.

The Capitol Hill Tool Library empowers our neighborhood to build DIY skills and improve sustainability, through offering tool borrowing, workspace, and classes.

Our inventory includes over 3,000 items, ranging from ice cream makers to hedge trimmers to sewing machines to drills. Our workshop has spaces for woodworking, jewelry making, and 3D printing. And our classes cover everything from backpacking to kombucha brewing wood shop safety to tax prep.

We're an entirely volunteer staff, and everything we offer is free or pay-what-you-can so that we can serve everyone in the community.

What skills you’ll need

Absolutely none. Really!

Many of us (including the person writing this listing!) came to the tool library with no DIY, woodworking, or "maker" experience at all - just an interest in connecting with our neighborhood. It’s very easy to learn on the job.

What you’ll do

We're open six days per week, for three hours each day. You'll pick a day to come in for, where you and one or two other tool librarians will serve patrons and improve the library. This includes checking tools in and out (like a library book), organizing inventory, helping patrons plan their projects, designing outreach and signage, and repairing broken items.

During your first shift, you’ll get an orientation from an existing volunteer and we’ll help you find tasks that you enjoy.

Why you’ll be excited

Staffing the tool library is a fun, rewarding way to connect with your community. You’ll meet your neighbors and help them with projects that they’re infectiously enthusiastic about. Rooted Home Furniture Bank is looking for volunteer Furniture Pickup & Delivery Team Members to help collect donated furniture and deliver essential household items to individuals and families transitioning into stable housing in Whatcom County.

This hands-on role is one of the most direct ways to support our mission. Volunteers help pick up donated furniture from community members, load and unload items, and deliver pieces such as beds, dressers, tables, chairs, lamps, and other home essentials to local households. By helping move these items, volunteers play a direct part in turning empty housing into comfortable, functional homes.

Volunteers should be comfortable lifting 30+ lbs, working as part of a team, and treating donors, clients, homes, and belongings with care and respect. Make a positive impact on the quality of life in our community by volunteering with Parks & Rec! With over 4,000 acres of protected green space and hundreds of recreation activities, volunteers are integral in helping Spokane keep our public spaces and recreation actives enjoyable and accessible to all. 

For this volunteer opportunity, we need help picking up litter in your local parks. All you need to bring is yourself! Volunteer at your leisure any time. Just let us know which park you'd like to volunteer at 48 hrs in advance so we can have supplies ready for you if needed. 

A Parks representative will email you within 72 hours of signing up to discuss the volunteer locations and hours with you.

We are looking for volunteers to help make MANAFest a success.  MANAFest brings together our Pacific Islander communities from across Washington State to celebrate who we are, where we come from, and the futures we’re building together. Join us for a day filled with culture, food, music, performances, workshops, vendors, community connection, and so much more.

This monthly event is an awesome (and easy!) way to support foster parents and caregivers in our community.  Volunteers are needed from 5:40-8:45 pm to provide childcare, snacks and games with kids while their caregivers take a few hours off! 

We are eager to host Family Night Out the first Friday in October and November this fall!

Camp Skookum is seeking an experienced and organized cook to prepare meals for approximately 80-90 campers, staff, and volunteers during our camp at The Firs Retreat Center for the dates of Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23.

What is Camp Skookum? It's a weekend long retreat for families impacted by the foster care system, where they get to connect and celebrate being together as a family. Camp Skookum is a place to make memories, find community with other families, and celebrate being together. And it’s completely free for families to attend.

Qualifications:

21 years or older with at least a high school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Experience preparing meals for large groups

Current Whatcom County Food Handlers card 

Ability to develop positive relationships with volunteers and staff

Ability to work independently and manage food prep efficiently

Effective communication

Able to pass background check

Key Responsibilities

Prepare meals according to agreed-upon menu

Utilize the fully equipped commercial kitchen at The Firs

Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards as set by the Whatcom County Health Department

Manage food storage, preparation, and cleanup

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the camp session

Coordinate meal timing with camp staff and program schedules

Leave kitchen facilities in good condition following the conclusion of camp.

Camp Skookum is looking for a team of certified lifeguards to oversee Lake Time on August 21 and 22nd at the Firs Conference and Retreat Center in Bellingham WA.  At Skookum Kids, we are passionate about protecting the connection between children and their families while in the child welfare system, and want to celebrate and support families who are back together after their time apart. Camp Skookum is a place for reunified families to make memories, find community with other families, and celebrate being together. And it’s completely free for families to attend!

Requirements: 

Lake time will be roughly between 1-5pm on Friday the 21st, and Saturday the 22nd.

Resource Navigation volunteers help strengthen the tools used to guide neighbors from hardship toward stability. REACT™ Support Volunteers help organize donated items, support inventory tracking, and assist with the donation pipeline that helps SVCA respond to practical needs in the community.

Good Fit For: Volunteers who enjoy building relationships, researching opportunities, writing, organizing information, and helping create sustainable community support. Grant writing or fundraising experience a plus.

Good Fit For: Volunteers with skills or experience in marketing, graphic design, website support, social media, writing, technology, or other creative and professional areas.

Become a volunteer mentor! Join a fun community! 

Rally Club Seattle is recruiting mentors for its “lunch bunch” group mentor community for the 2026/27 school year. Programming takes place onsite at Greenlake Elementary School in  NE Seattle (2400 N 65th St,  Seattle, WA 98103)  weekly on Mondays from 12-1pm (approximately).

Rally Club focuses on community and making meaningful connections. Connectedness not only has a powerful protective effect on mental health, but also improves other youth outcomes such as academic competence, concern for others, and confidence. Caring mentors like you create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive community that youth want to be a part of. Time is spent in larger group activities as well as in small groups and in giving individualized attention. Activities are tailored to youth need and interest.

-Community is good for all of us, and volunteering has measurable health benefits. 

-Our group format allows for others to cover absences, so although we ask for a once a week, semester commitment, it’s realistic.

-You can join with friend! It’s not only fun, but also provides the kids with healthy examples of adult friendships.

Volunteers will support the Food Access Network (FAN) team by helping with food pick-up from our food bank partners across King County. This will involve manually unloading food from trucks and transporting it to our Makeki (Market), where they will help stock the shelves. Volunteers will also assist with breaking down boxes, managing operations during Makeki (Market) hours under the supervision of the FAN team, and helping to close Makeki at the end of each operational day. Come help hand out slips of paper to shoppers with our most needed items for our preschool kids and collect donated items at the Murphy's Corner Fred Meyer entrances! :)

Volunteers are fundamental to the success of this event and play an important role in creating a memorable experience for participants.  Volunteer opportunities include Guest Registration, Hole-In-One Witness, Activity Stations and more.  Shifts are around 4 hours and take place in the morning, mid-day and afternoon.
