Volunteer: Help KCSARC Support Survivors of Sexual Assault & Vulnerable Families

PLEASE HELP KCSARC SUPPORT SURVIVORS AND VULNERABLE FAMILIES

The King County Sexual Assault Resource Center wants the community we serve to know we are continuing full operations during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This includes our 24-Hour Resource Line for help and information at 1.888.99.VOICE, as well as therapy, family education, legal advocacy and other supports for survivors and their families. All services are offered in both English and Spanish.

Survivors face enormous barriers to justice and healing under the best of circumstances. The majority of families KCSARC serves are further stressed by closures of workplaces, schools, childcare and more. They are anxious about loss of income and supports ushered in by the crisis.

As we absorb the unanticipated costs of new technology needed in order to deliver uninterrupted services, our nonprofit is also scrambling to respond to clients’ escalating needs for basics like groceries, transportation, or housing to make it possible for them to participate in therapy and engaged in their legal cases.

Over the last three years, demand for KCSARC’s services has increased 22% and has held steady. As we respond to survivors who are now facing enormous additional barriers to healing, our nonprofit’s resources are stretched thinner than ever.

PLEASE HELP KCSARC SUPPORT SURVIVORS AND VULNERABLE FAMILIES

We are counting on the support of community members to help us continue delivering the services and supports that survivors and vulnerable families need to heal, especially during these challenging times.

Donating is the fastest way for you to make a difference
as we grapple with the impact of the Coronavirus.
DONATE: Donations to support KCSARC's work are most vital at this time. Donate online at https://www.kcsarc.org/contribute or checks may be mailed to KCSARC at PO Box 300, Renton, WA 98045.  IN-KIND: Gift cards for groceries and other essentials (such as Fred Meyer, Safeway, Costco, Cash & Carry) that help meet clients' immediate needs are also gratefully accepted. Please mail gift cards to KCSARC at PO Box 300, Renton WA 98057. Please enclose donor name and contact info for acknowledgement and receipt.

Volunteer: Cleaning Supplies Needed To Safely Provide Services To Our Seniors

At Volunteer Services of Catholic Community Services, volunteers assist low-income seniors and adults with disabilities with chore assistance, shopping, laundry, and yard work assistance. However, in the midst of COVID-19, we have redirected our volunteers to ensure program participants get their groceries and medications, essential medical transportation, and phone check-ins.

We are asking for supplies such as gloves, hand sanitizers, and disinfecting wipes for our dedicated volunteer drivers and grocery deliverers to help us safely provide services to our program participants at this time. We can arrange a “no-contact” drop off location or do a curb-side pick-up from your car.

If you would like to make a financial contribution to help support our efforts, donations can be made on our website: https://secure2.convio.net/ccsww/site/Donation2?df_id=5342&mfc_pref=T&5342.donation=form1

Volunteer: Help Our Most Vulnerable with Grocery Gift Cards

At Volunteer Services of Catholic Community Services, volunteers assist low-income seniors and adults with disabilities with chore assistance, shopping, laundry, and yard work assistance. However, in the midst of COVID-19, we have redirected our volunteers to ensure program participants get their groceries and medications, essential medical transportation, and phone check-ins.

During this time, many program participants have expressed the difficulty in paying for their groceries. We are asking for monetary donations in order to purchase gift cards for program participants to offset costs.

Volunteer: Help Pike Place Market workers during COVID-19

Pike Place Market is the soul of Seattle - we are 500 local businesses, 400 senior residents, specialized social service agencies, and thousands of local workers, artists, and friends. And the Market Foundation needs YOUR help in sustaining the future of this vibrant Market community!

In this COVID-19 crisis, our staff is raising vital funds and helping community members navigate pressing needs such as Market Community Safety Net requests, unemployment filings, food access, housing referrals, and so much more.

There are 3 ways you can help the Market community in its greatest hour of need:

1. SHOP LOCAL – Essential food business at Place Market are open and have delivery, take out and online ordering options. Flower farmers, artists and specialty shops rely on online shoppers at this time. Please be intentional on how you spend your money to help small, local businesses survive this economic crisis.

2. DONATE TO OUR MARKET COMMUNITY SAFETY NET – This fund supports individuals who live, work or access services in the Market community, are facing a sudden financial crisis and need support to regain stability. Since the COVID-19 crisis emerged 2 weeks ago, the demand has skyrocketed and we anticipate the need will overwhelm our existing system. We’ve already received more than 1,000 calls for support.

3. GIVE TO OUR SPRING HYGIENE DRIVE– Give new and unused toiletries to keep our Market community services and clients healthy in this time of need.

No matter your contribution, you can make a difference to the Market community at its greatest time of need
