We’re looking for energetic, LGBTQIA2S-affirming volunteers to set the stage, march in the parade, sell our signature PRIDE swag (yes, those clack-tastic folding fans!), and wrap everything up when the party’s over. Volunteer Roles & Shifts Shift Time What You’ll Do Set-Up Squad 7 – 11 AM Unload gear during the official vendor load-in window, pop up canopies, hang banners, and arrange colorful merch displays (Spokane City) Parade Pride Walkers 11:30 AM – 1 PM Line up with our float, wave flags, hand out stickers, and help our yak mascot keep the energy high as the parade rolls at noon (Spokane City, YWCA Spokane) Merchandise Mavericks 1 – 6 PM Staff the booth, greet festival-goers, and sell rainbow bandanas, pins, clack fans, and other Pride gear that “snaps, slaps and speaks volumes” (Pride Fans®, Alchemy Merch, Daftboy) Float & Booth Re-stock 2 – 4 PM Run quick supply runs, top up water for volunteers, and keep the cashless POS humming Strike Force 6 – 9 PM Break down displays, pack tubs, inventory leftover swag, and load everything for next year’s Pride (Happening Next)

Our Volunteer Services Program is looking for dedicated and kind volunteers that would be willing to help a senior or disabled adult maintain their living environment in order to start or continue living a healthy life.

Volunteers can do tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, window cleaning and more. You can choose from an activity list. Volunteers assist only in light housekeeping activities. 

Location and Time Commitment: Time commitment can range from one time assistance, weekly, every other week or monthly assistance. We will work with your schedule, location preferences, and with what you are comfortable in doing!

Volunteer Benefits: Increase the quality of life for a senior or adult with a disability, gain new friendships, and make the community a safer place to live.

We provide delivery service weekly to clients who are not able to get to the food bank due to age, disability, or lack of transportation. We also provide delivery to over 100 clients weekly at JBLM.

Eloise’s Cooking Pot has the largest food bank delivery program in Pierce County. As a Driver you will pick up and deliver food and other donations from specific locations.  A Volunteer Driver must have a Driver’s License with a good driving record, Proof of Insurance, and provide their own vehicle.  If providing delivery to JBLM, must have access.  For volunteer safety we provide a designated area to pick the boxes up for deliveries. There are measures in place for safe delivery to the clients.

As a Volunteer Driver:

Flexible Schedule – Tuesday through Saturday.Have an assigned route provided at the beginning of your shift each day of volunteering. Pick up assembled boxes from the Food Bank and delivery to clients on your route. Have enough room in your vehicle for a minimum of 10 small boxes. Be able to carry heavy objects and walk upstairs to deliver groceries to clients in their homes.

Help us help others by giving them the food they need! Our foodbank is located at 3543 McKinley Ave E, Tacoma WA 98404.

The Distribution Assistant reports to the Warehouse Manager, who will direct you on positions as needed as a volunteer. The Tacoma Dome Pop-Up Food Bank is part of the Eloise Cooking Pot Food Bank.

Wednesday is our greatest day of needing volunteer assistants; individuals, and groups are encouraged

There are 4-hour increments.

Full Shift 1 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Shift 2 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Shift 3 12:00 pm to 430 pm. 

Shift 4 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Sign in, wash hands, and put on plastic gloves. Briefing, then positions are instructed. Set up a parking lot with cones, a sign tent, and chairs Employees offload trucks and place pallets with pallet jacks lined up on the ground Inspect incoming food and food boxes. Pass out sign-in forms to clients, then collect filled out forms from clients. Instruct clients to line up to pick up food. Put food into clients' trunks/vehicles. Pass out toys to clients with children in the vehicle.

Help us help others by giving them the food they need! Our pop-up food bank is located at the Tacoma Dome on lot G an outside event.

As a mentor, you will help to coach families through an individualized plan that includes group learning and one-on-one opportunities. Our participants will also have access to the service of the Northwest Workforce Council to help them explore job training opportunities and the participants can work with NWC to research employment options.  You can make a difference in the lives of our enrollees. Mentoring will consist of providing one-on-one financial coaching using our financial toolkit and collaborating with the enrollee(s) to develop goals in a Family Resiliency Plan.   Responsibilities:   Mentors will be trained to work closely with a participant to develop goals to improve financial health while providing needed social and emotional support. We prefer mentors who can commit to assisting an EcSA participant for the entire year of the program. Mentors will meet one-on-one, through Zoom, phone calls or text, with a selected family an average of 10 hours of mentorship, creating financial goals, and virtual Knowledge Night attendance.   Training: Training is provided, and no previous experience is required to volunteer as a mentor. Volunteer: Help New Parents - Become a PEPS Group Leader!

PEPS is a non-profit organization that connects parents to strengthen families and build community through parent peer-support groups. 

PEPS groups meet weekly and are facilitated by a PEPS-trained Leader. Each meeting allows parents the opportunity to share the week's concerns, successes, issues, and joys as well as time for a discussion on topics related to parenting and children (sleeping, feeding, adjusting to parenthood, etc.) The PEPS program model is based on the 5 Protective Factors from Strengthening Families, which help build resilient families, positive connections and support for parents, and reduce negative outcomes, such as abuse and neglect. 

98% of PEPS groups are facilitated by volunteers who are deeply rooted in our community and passionate about supporting new parents through the first critical months of life with a new baby. Over 4000 families rely on PEPS volunteers each year.

PEPS facilitators are compassionate, empathetic, resourceful, and real. They don't have all the answers, but they are passionate about helping parents, generating ideas, finding information, and building neighborhood communities together.

Some leaders give back as a way of honoring their own PEPS experience. Many are new to PEPS. All tell us they find great joy and satisfaction in helping new parents connect and share through their PEPS groups.

We appreciate warm, sensitive communicators, who are accepting of varied child-rearing practices and diverse lifestyles. Interest in early childhood development, experience in education or facilitation, previous PEPS group participation, or being a parent yourself are welcome pluses.

PEPS is a non-profit organization that connects parents to strengthen families and build community through parent peer-support groups. 

PEPS groups meet weekly and are facilitated by a PEPS-trained Leader. Each meeting allows parents the opportunity to share the week's concerns, successes, issues, and joys as well as time for a discussion on topics related to parenting and children (sleeping, feeding, adjusting to parenthood, etc.) The PEPS program model is based on the 5 Protective Factors from Strengthening Families, which help build resilient families, positive connections and support for parents, and reduce negative outcomes, such as abuse and neglect. 

98% of PEPS groups are facilitated by volunteers who are deeply rooted in our community and passionate about supporting new parents through the first critical months of life with a new baby. Over 4000 families rely on PEPS volunteers each year.

PEPS facilitators are compassionate, empathetic, resourceful, and real. They don't have all the answers, but they are passionate about helping parents, generating ideas, finding information, and building neighborhood communities together.

Some leaders give back as a way of honoring their own PEPS experience. Many are new to PEPS. All tell us they find great joy and satisfaction in helping new parents connect and share through their PEPS groups.

We appreciate warm, sensitive communicators, who are accepting of varied child-rearing practices and diverse lifestyles. Interest in early childhood development, experience in education or facilitation, previous PEPS group participation, or being a parent yourself are welcome pluses.

Our mentors play a vital role in the success of our school wellness programs. We offer weekly sessions for 6-10 weeks, and we strive to match mentors with specific students for the entire program duration. A strong desire to support the growth and development of youth and children in our community.

Foster parents and program staff work together to provide a safe haven to refugee and immigrant children from around the world. Refugee youth will be supported in their work to heal from past trauma while they pursue goals of learning English, getting an education, and preparing for a future of independence.
