We are a Catholic, not-for-profit facility serving people of all ages and faiths who require transitional or long-term skilled nursing care.
Our approach offers sensitive, holistic care attending to the physical, social and psychological needs of our residents while emphasizing respect for the cultural and spiritual diversity of those we serve.
Providence Mother Joseph Care Center is part of Providence Health & Services in Southwest Washington, which includes Providence St. Peter Hospital, Providence Centralia Hospital, Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice and Providence St. Francis House.

Our residents and staff value our volunteers who make a difference through assisting with group and intergenerational activities, and individual one to one visits with residents. Keeping active and engaged ensures a rich and rewarding quality of life for our residents and our volunteers help to make that happen.
Volunteer Opportunities
for Individuals and Groups
1. Play checkers, chess or cards with a resident
2. Visit with residents about past vocation or places where they
have lived and traveled.
3. Take a resident outside in one of our beautiful courtyards to
enjoy the fresh air and gardens.
4. Play the piano or perform a music special program.
5. Stroll the hallways playing a musical instrument or singing.
6. Share your skills with a demonstration.
7. Share examples of your hobby or collection.
8. Share travel slides/video or photos with a group
9. Share your talents of carpentry, crafts,
scrapbooking, or other projects.
10. Give instruction for a art class or coordinate a special art
project.
11. Assist with outings to shopping, parks, fairs
and other destinations.
12. Read the newspaper or books aloud for groups or
individuals.
13. Lead a sports group/Monday night football /
Mariner’s game with residents.
14. Help with group activities such as games or bowling.
15. Create a program and share with a group on a quarterly
basis.
